Overview
Mirissa is one of the best places in the world to see blue whales and sperm whales in the wild, and the south coast around it is lined with some of Sri Lanka's finest beaches. Head out at sunrise on a licensed whale-watching boat for a 3 - 4 hour cruise along the continental shelf, with a real chance of spotting whales, dolphins and flying fish, then spend the rest of the day down south among palm-fringed bays and traditional stilt fishermen. Whale watching is best from November to April.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Early hotel pick-up (around 05:30) and transfer to Mirissa harbour. Board a licensed whale-watching boat departing around 06:30 for a 3 - 4 hour cruise along the continental shelf, with an experienced crew tracking blue whales, sperm whales, and pods of spinner dolphins. Return transfer to your hotel afterwards.
